Hiking Mount Nares near Carcross Yukon

Wow! We stopped in Carcross after driving the Klondike highway about 70 km from Whitehorse, stopping briefly at the Carcross desert, which is actually shifting sand dunes formed by wind blown sand from Bennett lake shore. Pat and Maxine showed us their cabin built by one of the gold rushers in 1903 on the shore of the lake- what an amazing bit of history!

Then my knowledgeable and experienced guides drove us a couple of km to the base of Mount Nares. Perfect weather, views, vegetaion and companions  for a 3000 ft hike up  this mountain just outside Carcross.
I'm awfully lucky to have friends to show me places like this. No tour buses here!
