Roger and I have discovered that we both like to avoid the crowded tourist areas so we made a fast exit from the touristy Kenai peninsula and took a pass on some of the famous sites like Homer. Rog says many Americans have an urge to visit Homer to “spawn or die.”
We skirted by Anchorage and blasted up to get a quick view of Mt McKinlay/ Denali, then found a nice campsite by a river a few miles up the Denali highway where we enjoyed a gourmet Mitchell meal.
